Fulfilment Of Latter Days Prophecies: Jalsa Salana Qadian 2023 Concludes With Faith Inspiring Address
On 31st December 2023, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad concluded the Annual Conventions (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Qadian, India and several African countries with an inspirational address.
His Holiness presided over the concluding session virtually from the Masroor Hall in Islamabad, Tilford. More than 15,000 people gathered at the Jalsa site in Qadian from 42 countries.
The concluding sessions of the other African countries included Senegal, Togo, Guinea-Conakry and Guinea-Bissau.
During the address, His Holiness said that the way the prophecies vouchsafed to the Promised Messiah and founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) were being fulfilled, was proof of the truth of this Community.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
"The arrangement of these conventions in all countries across the world, the calling of the name of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) with great respect and honour are manifestations of the fulfilment of this Divine promise, affirming that he is the true Promised Messiah and the Awaited Mahdi, as per the promise of Allah the Almighty and the prophecies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."
His Holiness mentioned how the town of Qadian was unknown to the world at the time of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), but solely due to his name, now the entire world is aware of it.
"Today, in this town [of Qadian], residents from dozens of countries across the world have gathered to participate in the Jalsa Salana. At present, representatives from approximately 42 countries are in attendance. There are people from Russian-speaking countries, Arab nations, African countries, Indonesia and other islands, as well as from the continents of Europe, America, and Australia. Thus, this is the beautiful fulfilment of the promises made by Allah the Almighty."
Mentioning examples of how people around the world were guided to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
"Muslims should rejoice that the era of the second rejuvenation of Islam has arrived and the time to overcome weaknesses and spread and preach Islam has dawned upon us. However, the selfish interests of so-called religious clerics are inciting them to mislead the general Muslim populace from the right path. However, a time will come when they will have to acknowledge the truth. This, too, is a Promise of Allah the Almighty to the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) that ultimately, these people will believe."
His Holiness mentioned numerous prophecies relating to the latter days and the advent of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). One of the prophecies quoted by His Holiness was in relation to chapter 73, verse 16 of the Holy Qur'an, which states:
"Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh."
His Holiness mentioned that the verse contained two prophecies whereby the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was to be a prophet with certain likeness to the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him). Just as Moses (peace be upon him) overcame his enemies during his lifetime, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings) was also granted victories in his lifetime.
The second prophecy contained in the verse related to the latter days. Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad quoted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) who stated:
"The similarity relating to the Latter Days is that God Almighty sent a Prophet in the last days of the Mosaic dispensation, who was against violence, had nothing to do with religious warfare, and preached forgiveness and mercy, and Jesus (peace be upon him) had appeared at a time when the moral condition of the Israelites had badly deteriorated and their character and conduct were thoroughly corrupted. They had also lost their kingdom and lived under the dominion of the Roman Empire. Jesus (peace be upon him) had appeared at the turn of the fourteenth century after Moses (peace be upon him), and since the chain of the Israelite Prophets came to an end with him, he was as such, the last link in the Israelite Prophethood."
Thereafter, His Holiness referenced a chain of verses from chapter 81 of the Holy Quran, each of which shed light on the signs of the Latter Days.
Speaking of chapter 81, verse 11 which states, "And when books are spread abroad," His Holiness said this tells us of the time when means would become established to publish books in large numbers, which referred to the printing presses and postal services and how they would become abundant so that books are published, and knowledge is spread more widely than ever before in history.
His Holiness also referred to chapter 81, verse 8 which states, "And when people are brought together."
In relation to this prophecy, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad quoted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) who said:
"This prophecy refers to the increased interconnection that was to develop between nations of the world. It means that in the latter days, because of the transportation infrastructure improving and because of the postal and electrical means of communication, humanity would have far greater means of contact. Countries will be able to connect with one another and people would make relations with one another despite living at large distances and there would be trade pacts and contact with people from around the world that will expand."
Referring to the developments seen in the past few decades, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
"TV and internet, air travel and other facilities are continuous proof of the fulfilment of this prophecy. The fact that people have come together today in Qadian is proof of this. The fact is that the message of Islam as a result of preaching the message of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) is also proof of this prophecy coming true."
Speaking of the truth of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
"The people that have gathered here today in Qadian and the fact that around the world people are viewing and listening to this Jalsa Salana, are they not a proof of the support that Allah the Almighty is granting to the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him)? Does a person who makes a false claim to Prophethood ever receive this fame, whereby slogans of his name are raised around the world? 134 years have passed and every day that rises, it carries with it the news of the progress of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Opponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, take heed!"
His Holiness mentioned that countless signs are still being fulfilled and that many people are being guided to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, adding that Ahmadi Muslims are being spiritually uplifted by the fulfilment of these signs.
Thereafter, His Holiness narrated incidents that showed God Almighty's Blessings and Succour to Ahmadi Muslims worldwide.
His Holiness emphasised the need for Muslims to rejoice as this is the era for the second rejuvenation of Islam.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
"Each one of you who is in Qadian for the Jalsa Salana and who will be returning back to their nations is testament to the fact that the Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is that very Messiah and Mahdi who was prophesied by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), who has always had the support of Allah the Almighty and shall continue to be helped by Allah. Every Ahmadi Muslim should continuously strive to fulfil the purpose of the advent of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him)."
At the end of his speech, His Holiness reminded Ahmadi Muslims to pray for the Palestinians, Muslims worldwide, and for Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan imprisoned for their faith. He also urged prayers for an end to the injustices in the world.
His Holiness then prayed for the New Year to be a blessed one and said:
"May Allah the Almighty bestow His Mercy on the Muslim world. May Allah the Almighty grant progress to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as well."
